Built by customers, for customers

Our Investment Plan was informed by nearly 50,000 customers who told us they want a more sustainable and resilient system that is ready for the future.

Our plan

Hydro One's 2023-2027 Investment Plan will reduce power outages for our distribution customers, renew and replace critical infrastructure, enable economic growth and prepare for climate change.

Our plan will benefit customers and Ontarians:

Reduce power outages

  • Renew equipment on the high voltage transmission system
  • Replace transformers and upgrade infrastructure at transformer stations
  • Upgrade equipment on the distribution system, including renewing or replacing wood poles

Prepare for climate change

  • Use automation and innovative solutions to reduce the impact of power outages for our distribution customers
  • Prevent outages by removing dead and diseased trees that could strike power lines
  • Install smart devices to improve resiliency for customers who experience the most power outage
  • Invest in stronger poles to withstand more severe weather

To deliver on the company’s Investment Plan, the typical Hydro One residential customer’s monthly bill will increase by an average of $3.12 in each year from 2023 to 2027.
