Signing up for a Budget Billing Plan can help you manage your electricity bill and know what to expect each month.
Residential, seasonal and general service energy-billed customers are eligible for the Budget Billing Plan. If you have signed with a retailer, you may also enrol in the plan.

How our Budget Billing Plan works 

  • Customers can enrol in the program at any time. Log in to My Account, choose "Billing Plans," then select "Budget Billing." Customers can also enrol by calling us and speaking to a call centre agent at 1-888-664-9376 (Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.).
  • Hydro One sets the monthly payment amount by looking at your consumption history and electricity usage pattern.
  • Your monthly payment will be reassessed at six and nine months to ensure it's in line with your actual electricity usage.

How often will I receive a bill?

On the Budget Billing Plan, you’ll receive a monthly bill:

  • Each bill is based on your monthly service charge plus 1/12 of your estimated annual energy use. If you have a sentinel light, your Sentinel Light charges are billed in addition to your Budget Bill monthly amount.
  • For the 12th bill, we reconcile your electricity usage. You're then credited for any overpayment or charged for the balance owing.
For our seasonal customers who enrol in our Budget Billing Plan, please note your billing frequency will change from quarterly to monthly billing.
