New construction

Eligibility requirements include:

  • Classified as residential occupancies
  • Three storeys or less
  • Not exceeding 600 m2

Ineligible projects: manufactured homes with a chassis, residential buildings with four or more storeys, homes larger than 600 m2.

Major renovation

Eligibility requirements include:

  • Substantial removal of existing interior walls, ceiling or floor assemblies
  • New installation of interior walls or floor assemblies
  • Replacement of one or more systems such as the framing, exterior cladding, roofing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, foundation, flooring or plumbing systems
  • The area under renovation is greater than 50 m2
  • The renovation of the area results in it being unoccupiable for a minimum of 30 days and requires a building permit.
  • The renovated building is connected, or will be connected once the new construction project is installed, implemented or undertaken and completed, to Hydro One's distribution system.

Master switch that controls multiple electrical sockets in multiple locations

ENERGY STAR®-Certified Central Air Conditioner (CAC)
Minimum 15 SEER and 12.5 EER as identified by the IESO***

Custom incentives

You may be eligible for Custom incentives for innovative, cost-effective, energy-efficiency building projects that do not qualify under Prescriptive and Performance-Based funding streams.

Lighting and appliance projects qualify under Performance and Prescriptive incentives

Measures must:

Payment basis

Based on energy savings realized in the first year: the greater of either $800/kW or $0.10/kWh (modelling is required)

Up to 50%

Total dollars available capped at 50% of project cost, including machinery, equipment, parts, fixtures and other accessories and items

The renovation of the area results in it being unoccupiable for a minimum of 30 days and requires a building permit. All machinery, equipment, parts, fixtures, and any other accessories or items associated with the custom measure must be commercially reasonable equipment and reflect commercially reasonable costs.
