We are responsible for reading your meter to calculate the charges on your bill. We do this on a set schedule depending on your service classification. And we will do so regardless of who you buy your electricity from.
To help us, please keep the access to your meter clear year round. If the meter reader can’t get access to your meter, you may be asked to provide a reading to Hydro One Networks. If you need help, you can learn how to read your own meter.
Meter reliability
Before installation, all electricity meters must meet strict accuracy requirements set by Measurement Canada. Once installed, meters are periodically checked by Hydro One Networks and government inspectors to ensure they continue to give accurate readings.
