Where am I ?

IMPORTANT: Starting January 1, 2016, residential customers will no longer be billed the Debt Retirement Charge for electricity used after December 31, 2015.

The Debt Retirement Charge (DRC) helps pay off the remaining debt from the former Ontario Hydro. The Debt Retirement Charge is calculated based on the amount of electricity you use — so it may vary from one bill to the next. To find out more about the Debt Retirement Charge visit the
Ontario Electricity Financial Corporation (OEFC)'s website.

Customers with a general service account that provides electricity to one or more "eligible residential units" will be eligible for a Debt Retirement Charge exemption of up to 1,500 kWh per month per unit. To qualify for this exemption, please complete and return this form.

The Debt Retirement Charge will be eliminated from the electricity bills of businesses and other large users for electricity used after March 31, 2018.
