Disclosure of Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses

On September 16, 2009, the Government of Ontario announced a new mandate effective September 1, 2009 on travel, meal, and hospitality expenses to Ontario’s 22 largest agencies, including Hydro One Inc. As a result, the Public Sector Expenses Review Act, 2009 was enacted which requires the review of certain expenditures by the Integrity Commissioner and the posting of the expenditures on the company’s website.

This website will provide information on the travel, meal, and hospitality expenses incurred by the Board of Directors, President and Chief Executive Officer and the employees who report directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer (“Designated Employees”). The travel, meal and hospitality expenses incurred by the five employees each of whose aggregate expense claims are the highest when compared with all other employees, will also be reported on this website annually. If any of these five employees are the President and Chief Executive Officer or a Designated Employee, their expenses will not be repeated.

The rules and principles governing travel, meals and hospitality reflect the Ontario Public Service Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive. The objective of the directive is to ensure that such expenses are modest, appropriate and strike a balance among economy, health and safety, and efficiency of operations.
