Keewatin Distribution Station

Project Need and Description  
Hydro One is proposing to build a new distribution station (DS) near Keewatin in the City of Kenora. The proposed Keewatin DS is required to ensure an adequate and reliable supply of power to meet growing electricity needs in the Lake of the Woods area. The Lake of the Woods is currently supplied by our Kenora DS which has reached its capacity and cannot meet the projected electricity demand.

The proposed Keewatin DS would be approximately 42m x 48m in area and consist of one transformer connected to the existing 115 kilovolt transmission line and local distribution line. A new DS will provide increased capapcity and improve electricity reliability in the area.
