Hydro One is set to begin construction on the Midtown Project at Rosehill Pumping Station. On May 12, 2011 Hydro One will be holding an Open House at Whitney Public School from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. to inform residents of our construction activities. March 8, 2010 | Hydro One Submits Final ESR with Ministry of the Environment
Hydro One released its draft Environmental Study Report (ESR) for a 45-day public review period beginning March 8, 2010. No Part II Order Requests were received. Read the Notice of Completion for details on this process.
On June 30, 2010, Hydro One filed the final ESR with the Ministry of the Environment. Hydro One plans to proceed with the proposed undertaking as outlined in the ESR later this year. Visit the Approvals section to download your copy of the final ESR.
June 17, 2010 | Hydro One receives Ontario Energy Board approval on Leave to Construct application
On June 17, the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) approved with conditions, Hydro One's Leave to Construct application for the Midtown Project. In its decision, the OEB found the project to be in the public interest in regard to its impact on price, reliability and quality of electricity service to consumers. May 10, 2010 | Hydro One moves main shaft location at Carstowe Road to alternative site
Hydro One held a community information session at the Whitney Junior Public School on May 10th to address community concerns about the proposed main shaft location at Carstowe Road and discuss a potential alternative site at the Rosehill Pumping Station on Mt. The City of Toronto has concluded that Hydro One’s main shaft/construction staging area proposal on the south portion of the Rosehill Pumping Station is technically feasible. We are now working cooperatively with the City to address land acquisition and municipal planning issues. Read our Midtown Project Update for further information on the current status of the shaft relocation, and next steps.
Hydro One has revised the Midtown Project Environmental Study Report (ESR) to reflect this change, and is incorporating other stakeholder comments and input. Our project team will be accepting comments regarding the revised location of the main shaft and construction staging area until June 25, 2010. If no comments are received, Hydro One will file the final ESR on June 30, 2010 with Ministry of the Environment and post the document on our website. Read the newspaper advertisement. |
