Issa Guindo
Issa Guindo has completed his third year at Ryerson University in the business management program. He is completing a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Marketing Management and Economics Management Science. Issa plans to pursue graduate studies in Business Economics.

Issa is on the Dean's List and is a member of the Golden Key Society, an international body that recognizes the top 15 per cent of university students. He has been honoured with the Urban Financial Services Coalition Scholarship and the Dr. Ezra Nesbeth Scholarship.

He is active on campus as a student representative on the Academic Council and sits on several committees including the Appeals Committee and the Admissions Committee. Issa is an active member of the Rooted African-Caribbean Association.

Off-campus, Issa volunteers for the Umugenzi for Refugees Organization, as well as the group Youth Assisting Youth. His current focus is developing a student organization that reaches out to disenfranchised youths.

Renée Reid
Renée Reid is a second-year Chemical Engineering student at the University of Western Ontario. This fall she plans to concurrently study at the Ivey School of Business, developing her business and leadership skills.

Renée has received various scholarships in high school, including an entrance scholarship to UWO, the Tom Tittel Youth Award for community involvement and the yearbook award. Renée also volunteers with the Markham African Caribbean Canadian Upliftment Program as a mentor of and tutor to students, helping develop their reading and comprehension skills.

At the UWO, Renée was an engineering soph for Orientation Week 2003, helping first-year students adjust to university life. Through the Women in Engineering Club, she mentors a female, first-year engineering student. In addition, she has a role in the engineering student council and is a second-year representative for the Chemical Engineering Society where she informs her classmates of society events and issues.

Hydro One congratulates Issa and Renée on their achievements and wishes them both well in their future endeavours.
