PowerPlay

Hydro One Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of PowerPlay, a new grant program to support and enhance children’s sports and recreation facilities in Ontario communities served by Hydro One.

Together with our employees, we believe in investing our charitable dollars to help build strong, healthy communities where our customers and employees live and work. PowerPlay will do just that by helping fund great, safe community facilities where kids can play and grow.

What community programs are eligible?

Grants of up to $25,000 are available for capital projects for community centres, indoor or outdoor ice rinks, playgrounds, splash pads, sports fields — facilities where the primary purpose is to support children’s community sports and active play. Applications for new facilities and the renovation of existing facilities will be considered. Additional funding may be available where energy efficiency measures are incorporated into the project.

We are now accepting applications for 2009.

Applications will be reviewed throughout the year. The next submission deadline is:

  • June 30, 2009
  • January 31, 2010
  • June 30, 2010.

Who is eligible to apply?

The program is open to municipalities and registered charities in communities where Hydro One is the local electricity supplier. The facility must be open and accessible to the community at large.

Please note that school playground equipment will be considered on an exception basis only, where the playground is the only one in the community.
