Habitat for Humanity

Hydro One employees are excited about our new partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Northumberland to build new, semi-detached homes for two families in need. Designed especially for seniors, these homes are the first of their kind for Habitat for Humanity.

Reminiscent of the spirit of barn-raisings in communities of old, Hydro One employees are pulling together to raise the roof on these new homes in Cobourg. Our volunteers are involved in all phases of construction, from framing, to cabinetry, to landscaping the yard. More than 250 of our employees are putting their personal and professional construction expertise to work on this building project.

Providing a solid foundation on which to improve the quality of life and make the dream of home ownership a reality for two couples is something we're very proud to be a part of.

Habitat for Humanity is an independent, charitable housing program dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by building homes in partnership with families in need. Habitat builds simple, decent and affordable houses and provides interest-free mortgages to families who would otherwise not be able to purchase their own home.
