Archives Ontario Hydro Services Company Appoints Former Noranda Chair and President Ontario Hydro Services Company (OHSC) President and Chief Executive Officer Eleanor Clitheroe has announced the appointment of Courtney Pratt as President and Chief Executive Officer of Ontario Hydro Networks. Ontario Hydro Networks is a subsidiary of OHSC, responsible for the regulated transmission and distribution business. Pratt was recently President of The Caldwell Partners. Prior to that, Pratt was with Noranda Inc., an international natural resources company, where he was Chair and President. Clitheroe said she was pleased OHSC was able to attract someone with Pratt’s experience. "His management expertise will be invaluable to the Ontario Hydro Networks organization during this period of transition in the Ontario electricity marketplace," said Clitheroe. Prior to joining Noranda in 1987, Pratt served as Senior Vice-President, Human Resources and Administration, for Royal Trustco between 1984 and 1987. He was also a National Partner with the management consulting firm of Touche Ross (now Deloitte Touche). Pratt is a Director of The Empire Company and Moosehead Breweries and is Chair of Imagine, a private sector funded organization whose goal is to promote corporate citizenship and increase private sector contributions to community. He was recently awarded the Order of Canada. OHSC is an electricity transmission and distribution, telecom and energy services company. Through its subsidiaries, it owns and operates Ontario’s high voltage transmission system transporting electricity to large industrial customers and municipal utilities, owns and operates low voltage distribution facilities serving about 930,000 retail customers and smaller municipal utilities in the province, and owns and operates a province-wide telecom system. OHSC has approximately 5,600 full-time employees at its facilities and offices throughout Ontario. It is a commercial successor company to Ontario Hydro, and officially began operation in April 1999. |
