Archives Hydro One Releases Details Under Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act - CEO Praises Staff For Job Well Done Toronto, April 28, 2004 - Hydro One has released a list of employees who have earned $100,000 or more pursuant to an amendment to the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act. Details can be found on the web at http://www.gov.on.ca/FIN/english/psecteng.htm Tom Parkinson, President and CEO of Hydro One Inc commented by praising Hydro One employees for their dedication and hard work. "Hydro One is proud of the work done by our employees; our staff do a great job for our customers and our company", said Parkinson. "80% of the Hydro One workers who earned over $100,000 in 2003 earned these amounts through necessary overtime to maintain the system during storms, emergencies and planned upgrades. These are the highly-skilled men and women who work under extreme and difficult conditions to keep our customers' power on 24 hours a day, 365 days a year." Hydro One has made significant productivity improvements in recent years. When Hydro One was created in 1999, the company had approximately 5630 regular staff, at the end of 2003 the regular workforce numbered approximately 4050. At the same time the company's work program expanded significantly. Hydro One owns and operates Ontario's electricity transmission system and the province's largest low voltage distribution system. Hydro One is wholly owned by the province of Ontario.
