Archives Hydro One works to restore fallen line near Sheppard Avenue Toronto, June 7, 2004 -- At 10:07 a.m., an insulator failed on a Hydro One electricity transmission line, causing the line to fall near the Sheppard Transformer Station, at 9002 Sheppard Ave. East, Toronto. The 230 kilovolt line fell onto Toronto Hydro feeder lines that share the same right of way, causing an outage that affected about 10,000 Scarborough area customers. Toronto Hydro successfully restored electricity to almost all of their customers by rerouting it through their distribution system shortly before 2 p.m. Hydro One crews are on site and working to repair the line and expect
to return it to service by this evening.
