Archives Hydro One Telecom and Toronto Hydro Telecom combine sales forces Toronto, February 24, 2005 - Hydro One Telecom and Toronto Hydro Telecom Inc. have signed an agreement to merge their enterprise sales forces effective February 7, 2005. Toronto Hydro Telecom will be managing the joint sales force. "We believe this is an excellent partnership offering synergies that will benefit customers of both companies through lower costs and better service," explained Hydro One Telecom President and CEO John Macdonald. "Toronto Hydro Telecom's superior network in Toronto complements our city-to-city network. We're delighted with the arrangement." Ian Miles, President of Toronto Hydro Telecom said, "Because we share many customers in finance, insurance and the public sector with Hydro One Telecom, this partnership makes perfect sense. Through a collaborative effort, we will be able to offer our customers a single point of contact for province-wide service. The joint sales force will be under the direction of Steve Howse, who has joined our team as Managing Director, Enterprise Sales. Steve comes to us with a solid track record of success following more than 15 years of experience in progressively responsible sales and marketing positions within the telecommunications industry." Hydro One Telecom and Toronto Hydro Telecom's networks are interconnected and can carry customer information from Toronto to locations throughout the province and into Quebec and the United States. The companies offer a broad range of data communications solutions including dark fibre, private line, Ethernet, dedicated business Internet access, video transmission, storage area transport and redundant network service. Toronto Hydro Telecom Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Toronto Hydro Corporation, provides data services in Toronto to more than 400 commercial addresses through its 450-kilometre fibre-optic network.
