Archives Power restored to approximately 113,000 Hydro One customers
following Friday?s severe summer storm June 9, 2007 - Hydro One confirms it has restored power to 113,000 customers following Friday's severe summer storm. High winds, heavy rain and lightning resulted in a significant number of downed trees and wires and caused damage to power equipment. Approximately 14,000 customers remain without power late Saturday afternoon.
Hydro One crews worked through the night and more crews were mobilized
in the early morning to assess and repair the damage resulting from last
night's storm. Helicopters have also been deployed to conduct aerial surveys
of system damage in order to prioritize restoration activities. Restoration
crews report significant numbers of downed poles and trees on lines. Additional
restoration support is being providing by a number of local power utilities. The company continues to redeploy crews from across the province to complete necessary restoration work. While it expected that the vast majority of customers will be restored today, approximately 3,000 customers may remain without power overnight. The most impacted areas currently include:

efforts to restore power following yesterday's fierce storm," said

"We will continue to redeploy crews to where they are needed so that
we can bring our remaining customers back on line as quickly and safely
