NEWS: A community information meeting was held on October 30, 2017 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the John G. Mlacak Community Centre. Read the community meeting notice and presentation.

Project Overview

In the summer of 2017, Hydro One began consultations with environmental and conservation authorities, community leaders, resident associations and property owners living adjacent to the transmission corridor regarding the 2018 routine vegetation maintenance planned between Marchwood Transformer Station (TS) and Goldfinch Drive in the City of Ottawa. The project area extends over Wards 4 and 23.

Feedback received throughout the consultation process helped develop a collaborative vegetation maintenance approach that balances the need for safety, reliability, environmental responsibility and community interests.

In late January, Hydro One started work in Ward 4 between Marchwood TS and the Queensway. Once the maintenance is complete in this area, crews will work on the transmission line towards Ward 23, between the Queensway and Bridlewood TS. We anticipate completing this project at the end of February 2018, weather permitting.
