Our employees are trained to handle emergencies, so when two Hydro One employees saw a contractor walk out of a nearby home covered in blood as the result of an accident with a saw, they put their first-responder training into action.

While one dialed 911, the other employee used his shirt as a bandage and his belt as a tourniquet to apply pressure to the contractors injured arm. Paramedics soon arrived to takeover medical treatment.

“The doctors told me that I would have only survived for four to five minutes without proper first aid,” said the contractor. “My family and I are so thankful to the Hydro One employees for their presence of mind and willingness to help. I am alive today because of them.”
