"I am writing to bring to your attention the outstanding service of one of your crews led by Paul, Regional Line Maintainer. It is not often that I feel compelled to write to a utility about a service call.

Our property is isolated, and located on the shores of a lake with submarine cable service. It is only accessible by snowmobile in the winter. During December, we experienced a power failure late in the day and the temperature was very cold (-25 C).

The crew arrived promptly and determined that the issue was with a submarine cable at about the waterline. They ensured that we were safe and warm for the night with an alternate heating source. Paul and his colleagues Peter and Matthew, Regional Line Maintainers, returned the next day to melt the ice and fix the cable.

The sub-zero temperatures and difficult location of the problem cable did not discourage them. They could have easily opted to wait for warmer temperatures forecasted for later in the week, but persevered to ensure the prompt restoration of service."
