Partnering with Jack.org to bring free virtual mental health resources to young people across Ontario. The partnership will bring live-streamed Jack Talks, Jack.org’s globally-recognized mental health education program to communities across the province. Through its partnership with Hydro One, the organization will host 200 live-streamed and recorded virtual Jack Talks in Ontario this year. More details can be found at: jack.org/Talks/Ontario-Talks-Series.
Hydro One continues to support First Nations and Métis communities to provide critical aid during the COVID-19 pandemic. We delivered 13,500 kits made up of food and safety supplies to First Nations communities with our partner GlobalMedic. We also supported the Métis Nation of Ontario’s (MNO) pandemic relief fund and its 31 community councils to provide food, medical and pharmaceutical supplies to its vulnerable citizens.
Helping Feed Ontario through a partnership to support the province’s foodbanks. We donated $300,000 worth of food to its COVID-19 Emergency Food Box Program, which provides boxes of emergency food. For every customer who signs up to paperless billing by April 30, we’ll donate an additional $3 to Feed Ontario. Sign up online through myAccount or by calling 1-888-664-9376. In light of Giving Tuesday on May 5, we donated $1 to Feed Ontario for every share of our social media post. With the help of our community, we were able to donate approximately 51,000 meals to those in need.
Supporting Ontario’s Ministry of Health with our customer service operations team. On April 21, 2020 our team began helping contact travelers entering Ontario to ensure they follow quarantine measures and provide guidance to help contain the spread of COVID-19.
