Scam Alert: We are aware that some consumers are receiving calls telling them that a home inspection is required in order to receive the COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program (CEAP). This is not true. A home visit is not required to qualify for CEAP.

For residential customers, the CEAP funding provided to Hydro One has now been given away to customers across Ontario and is no longer available. We're deeply committed to helping our customers who are struggling. Contact us today at 1-888-664-9376 to be connected with additional financial relief options.

COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program (CEAP)

If you’re having difficulty paying your bill due to COVID-19, you may be eligible to receive a credit on your Hydro One bill.

Any residential customer with an overdue electricity bill will now be eligible to apply to receive up to $750 to help cover their electricity bill. Newly eligible customers can apply for these enhanced benefits starting in January 2021.

Since the summer of 2020, the Government of Ontario has made $40 million to support customers who have overdue amounts on their energy bills as a result of COVID-19. The COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) is delivered directly by electricity and natural gas utilities, further to rules laid out by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB).

CEAP is an on-bill credit for eligible residential electricity and natural gas customers to help them catch up on their energy bills and resume regular payments. Residential customers may be eligible for up to $750 in support and can apply for on-bill credits for both electricity and natural gas separately. Customers who previously received CEAP support that was less than the maximum amount of $750 and have additional arrears may apply again, but their total on-bill credits can’t exceed $750.
