Disclaimer

This material is for awareness to assist members of the public and industry professionals in determining asset ownership; however, we encourage customers to submit a request if you are still unclear on ownership – Safety is our priority. For vegetation work on a customer owned service line, refer to the Electrical Safety Authorities guidelines for homeowners.

  • Never attempt to cut down trees near power lines yourself. Electricity can jump through the air to nearby objects even if they are not touching the line.
  • Hire a qualified arborist or Hydro One for safe tree trimming.
  • If trimming near your own service line, contact us for a free disconnect/reconnect service, available once per year.
