Ensuring a safe and reliable supply of power for homes and businesses in Ontario is Hydro One's top priority. An important step to sustaining this commitment involves maintaining and renewing our infrastructure.

Hydro One has identified sections of its 115 kilovolt (kV) transmission line between Burlington and Hamilton which require refurbishment to maintain a continued delivery of safe, reliable electricity and minimize the risk of future power interruptions.

As part of the planning process, Hydro One is undertaking a Class Environmental Assessment (see approvals section) that will include plenty of opportunities for public involvement.

BENEFITS

Refurbishing this transmission line will strengthen and modernize our infrastructure and the electricity grid that powers your city every day.

PROJECT PROFILE

This project involves refurbishing the existing 115 kV transmission line between Burlington Transformer Station, in the City of Burlington, and Enbridge Westover Customer Transformer Station, in the City of Hamilton. View map of the study area.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU

Public consultation is an integral component of the Class Environmental Assessment process. Hydro One provides early notification of proposed undertakings to the government agencies, municipal officials, First Nations communities, potentially affected property owners, and other local stakeholders, and we maintain a project contact list to keep interested parties informed and engaged throughout the study process.
