We’re continuing to assess damage caused by yesterday's wind storm and are preparing for more potential outages across the province as high winds continue.

Our new outage prediction tool is forecasting that the high winds that started yesterday will continue today and could cause hundreds of outages across Ontario. Our crews have moved into position in the hardest-hit areas and are currently assessing damage in order to quickly and safely restore power to affected customers. An estimated time of restoration will be determined for each outage once damage has been assessed.

We prioritize emergencies and restoration in such a way that brings power back to the largest number of customers in the shortest period of time.

Staying safe

If the power system in your area is affected by bad weather, be sure to stay clear of any fallen power lines. If you spot a fallen line, keep at least 10 metres back, even if it does not appear to be live. Report it to the police and call Hydro One at 1-800-434-1235.
