Hydro One completed the Class Environmental Assessment process for this project in January 2014 with the submission of a final Environmental Study Report to the Ministry of the Environment. On January 2, 2014, the Minister of the Environment issued a decision that the Clarington TS project did not require an Individual Environmental Assessment; however, Hydro One must satisfy conditions as described in the
decision. One of these conditions requires that Hydro One establish a Community Liaison Committee (CLC).
We established the Clarington CLC in 2014 to serve as one of many ways for the company and certain community representatives to exchange information during the construction phase of the project. In addition to the CLC, we also communicate relevant project information through mail, emails, newsletters, and this website.
