Project Overview

Hydro One is completing an environmental study to refurbish equipment nearing its end of life on a section of our 115 kilovolt transmission line, known as Circuit D6 (the project). Project work will include relocating and replacing wood poles, shield wire and conductors.

Rooted in community engagement and consultation, the environmental study will evaluate proposed alternative routes for the line that minimize social, economic and environmental effects.

Project Map

The alternative routes were identified based on several factors. These factors include pre-determined connection points, consideration of physical, natural, and socio-economic features in the area. The alternative routes will be evaluated to select a preferred route with the least overall impact to the environment.

Environmental Assessment Process

The D6 Relocation Project is subject to an environmental assessment process, in accordance with the requirements of the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. The environmental assessment will evaluate and determine a preferred route and assess the potential effects of the project. Learn more about the EA process here.
