you know, credit card companies charge businesses like Hydro One a percentage of the payment for
processing fees. Most merchants embed this fee in the price of their product or service.
However, as a regulated utility, these charges are not included in our approved rates and
charges that we bill our customers. In order to be fair to all customers, we have to ensure that
the users of the credit card service pay for the service. Hydro One customers may choose to pay
their bill via credit card through Paymentus. Paymentus Corporation is an independent company
providing a service for us. They pass along their costs through a processing fee to the user.
Hydro One does not receive any portion of this processing fee.
