Provincial Broadband Support

In 2021, the Ontario government announced the Building Broadband Faster Act (BBFA) with the mission to accelerate broadband connectivity to approximately 700,000 underserved or unserved homes and businesses in the province of Ontario by 2025. Considering the reach of Hydro One in these communities requiring broadband services, a choice-based operating model has been offered to better support Internet Service Providers with the timely deployment of broadband across the province of Ontario.

For more information on these choices, see the home page. For more information on how to access Hydro One’s poles for the purpose of broadband, visit the Distribution Joint Use Resources page.
