Eligibility requirements include:

  • Classified as residential occupancies

  • Three storeys or less

  • Not exceeding 600 m2

  • Is not a manufactured home with a chassis.

Major renovation

Eligibility requirements include:

  • Substantial removal of existing interior walls, ceiling or floor assemblies

  • New installation of interior walls or floor assemblies

  • Replacement of one or more systems such as the framing, exterior cladding, roofing, windows, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, foundation, flooring or plumbing systems

  • The area under renovation is greater than 50 m2

  • The renovation of the area results in it being unoccupiable for a minimum of 30 days

  • The renovated building is connected, or will be connected once the new construction project is installed, implemented or undertaken and completed, to our distribution system.

For a new home that achieves an Energuide 83 or 84 rating or is certified ENERGY STAR® for New Homes.*


For a new home that achieves an EnerGuide 85 or higher rating

Prescriptive incentives

$50 per house

Master all off switch that controls all electrical sockets in the house (hard-wired)

$30 per unit

ENERGY STAR® certified central air conditioner (CAC) minimum 15 SEER and 12.5 EER as identified by the IESO**

$5 per bulb

ENERGY STAR® certified lighting

  • Recessed lighting (must have GU24 replacement)
  • Under-the-counter lighting
  • LED lighting

$3 per unit

Lighting control products

  • Hard-wired indoor and outdoor timers and motion sensors
  • Hard-wired dimmer switches

$3-10 per unit

ENERGY STAR® certified indoor light fixtures (hard-wired):

  • 1 or 2 sockets $3
  • 3 or more sockets $10

*As established by Natural Resources Canada  **Please see IESO eligible CAC list. All CACs are eligible as long as they have a minimum SEER of 15 and minimum EER of 12.5, as identified by the AHRI Certification Directory.

Download and complete the Preliminary Application Project Worksheet to obtain pre-approval prior to framing or commencement of any structural work other than the pouring of a foundation.


Complete construction after approval is granted.


Download and complete the Final Application Project Worksheet

Agree to the Terms and Conditions and submit with supporting documentation.

Performance Incentives
  • A copy of the EnerGuide Energy Evaluation Report or the ENERGY STAR® for New Homes Certificate for each home.

Prescriptive Incentives
  • A copy of the occupancy permit for each home.

  • If there is no occupancy permit provided by the municipality, a copy of the building permit.

Custom Incentives
  • A copy of the occupancy permit for each home.

  • If there is no occupancy permit provided by the municipality, a copy of the building permit.

  • Completed Residential New Construction Resource Planning Tool.

  • Receipts and invoices for the purchase of the Eligible Custom Measures.
