Meter types and readings

Depending on your type of service, you may have a different type of meter installed. Different metering configurations are used to measure electrical properties such as how much energy you use, when you use it, your peak power requirements and generation of power.

There are two types of meter reading:

Automated — It’s a smart meter’s job to communicate and enable automated meter reads.

Conventional — When a meter is not communicating or is a solid state model with dials, we manually read it the old fashioned way.
