We have adopted a sustainability oversight and management structure to ensure accountability at all levels of the company.

Sustainability oversight

Hydro One's Board, through its four standing committees - the Audit Committee, Indigenous Peoples, Safety & Operations (IPSO) Committee, Governance and Regulatory Committee (GRC), and Human Resources Committee (HRC) - oversees sustainability. At the executive level, sustainability is overseen by the Executive Vice President (EVP), Strategy, Energy Transition and Human Resources, supported by the extended executive team with accountability in the key areas of people, planet and community.

Sustainable Financing

Hydro One is the first utility in Canada to publish a Sustainable Financing Framework. Through the issuance of Sustainable Financing Instruments, Hydro One is actively financing projects that contribute to the achievement of the UN SDGs. Our investments are helping to create, sustain and maintain access to low-carbon electricity.

Ombudsman

The Office of the Hydro One Ombudsman provides a confidential, impartial and independent review of complaints that could not otherwise be resolved by the Company. The Ombudsman reports directly to the Board (through its Governance Committee) to ensure independence.
